Description:Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe, 10th Baronet of Calke Abbey, Derbyshire was born in 1846 and died in 1924. He was a keen ornithologist and country sportsman. His summer residence was Warslow Hall and he was the owner of large areas of land in the Staffordshire moorlands, particularly around Alstonefield, where he was Lord of the Manor, Warslow and Longnor.

Copies of this photograph were given to his tenants after his death.
