Description:A view from the south west, showing the west front and tower.
Tutbury church originally formed part of a priory founded by Hugh de Ferrers in the 1080s. The church has a wonderful Norman west front built in about 1160-70. The nave piers and south door are also 12th century. The north aisle was added in 1820-22 by J.H. Bennett and the chancel and sanctuary by G.E. Street in 1866.
