Date:1905

Description:A postcard portrait of East African men, women and child, believed to have been taken in Hednesford in the winter of 1904-1905.

The message on the reverse reads: 'How are you all, How do you like these people? they are staying here from East Africa. They are often in the street & with not so much clothing on as you see. They cannot speak English much. H.G.M.'

It is not known whether or not they were refugees, or could they have been travelling entertainers?
