Description:Square punched card, embroidered in dark blue silk thread in cross-stitch, alphabet and numerals. Inscribed 'J.R.B.M. 1857'. It was made by John Richard Beech Masefield, born in Stone, March 11th 1850. He later lived in Cheadle and was a solicitor. He was the founder of the Hawksmoor Nature Reserve near Cheadle, and was President of the North Staffordshire Field Club four times during the 49 years he was a member. He died at Rosehill, Cheadle in 1932. 96 x 94mm From the Staffordshire County Collection
