Description:John Wesley first preached in Stafford in 1783. For many years the Wesleyans in Stafford used premises in St. Chad's Place as their meeting house, until they built a new chapel on Chapel Street, and minister's house, in 1811(pictured). This building was later demolished because of structural defects. A new larger chapel was erected on the same site in 1863. A Sunday school opened in Rowley Street in 1886.
