Description:Horse-drawn decorated float - 'Beauties of England' - entered by the Lotus Ltd.’s George Street factory’s Packing Department employees in the annual Trades and Friendly Societies' Pageant. This photograph was taken on Siemens Road, close to its junction with Sabine Street.
The procession through Stafford ended with a fair on the town common. A prize was awarded to the best decorated entries and along the route collections were made for Stafford General Infirmary.
Lotus entered between ten and fifteen floats each year and judged their own entries prior to entering the pageant. Mr Northwood (centre) is holding the cup awarded by Lotus to this year's winners.
