Description:No. 6, Jerningham Street, Castle Town, Stafford. Built around 1825, this was the last house in Stafford to be lit solely by gas, only converting to electricity in 1989. Mr Chatfield's parents had refused to allow the landlord to convert the house to electricity because it meant that the rent would have risen.
