Description:The interior of the information room at the Staffordshire Police Headquarters,at Baswich house, Weeping Cross, Stafford.

The Information Room took all 999 calls and had radio contact with the patrol cars for the Police Service. They covered an area from Stoke-On-Trent in the north of the County, to Tipton in the Black Country.

The Duty Officer was usually a Police Inspector but the rest of the staff were civilian and covered just four telephones between them.

Control of the cars was operated from one central radio. The cars had named codes with Stafford patrols all being "Tango".
