Description:This pair of cream satin weave silk wedding shoes are lined with kid leather and linen and were produced in about 1910. The nap of the silk runs in two directions around the body of the shoe, allowing the fabric to catch the light. The toe is decorated with a silk bow and machined embroidery, also in silk. The raised embroidery forms a stylised design of leaves composed of French knots, satin stitch and straight stitch. The shoe is stamped in gold with the maker's name: Barrie, Paris, 1889. The height of the heel is 45mm.
The original owner of these shoes lived in Coppenhall, near Stafford.
