Description:Fox Earths was the home of the Hill family (of John Hill and Sons Nursery) from the late 19th century until it was sold in the early 1970s. It was then briefly a residential home. The house was built in the mid 19th century and was originally named Withnall Cottage.

In about 1849, John and Elijah Hill purchased land at Spot Acre, near Fulford in order to set up their nursery business there. John Hill and Sons Nursery eventually occupied about 800 acres around Spot Acre and Moddershall, before closing in 1990.
