Description:James Dyche and his second wife Mary Hulme (born Mary Vickerstaff) pictured outside their home at Silkmore Hall, Stafford. They were married at the United Methodist Church, Gaol Square, Stafford on Christmas Day 1924. They spent most of their married life at Silkmore Hall, until James Dyche died in 1939. The hall was demolished in the 1960s and homes for the elderly were built on the site.

James Dyche was a shoe manufacturer. The J. Dyche (later Cook & Dyche) factory stood in Fancy Walk, Stafford and was also known as the Queen of Sheba works.
