Description:A stoneware beer bottle from the Bird in Hand brewery, Hilderstone. The Bird and Hand Inn had its own malthouse and brewery. It was one of the last public houses in the county to brew its own beer. The Shelley family owned the Inn from 1819 until 1954. The landlord in the early 20th century was Thomas H. Shelley. This particular bottle was purchased by Mr Sincock of Endon.
