Description:Fireman's axe with varnished wood shaft. The head is contained in a leather pouch with slots for a broad leather belt with a square brass buckle. Hank of line with brass dog clip is attached to the belt. Axe, pouch and belt stamped LNWR (London and North Western Railway). Made by Shand, Mason and Company. Length of axe: 400mm. Length of axe head: 180mm.
