Description:This fire mark was formerly displayed on a Rugeley building. Until the early 19th century most organised fire fighting was carried out by private fire brigades belonging to insurance companies. This fire mark has a rectangular base which is embossed 'District' and a circular top with a shield in the centre. The word 'Birmingham' is embossed around edge.

Length at base: 255mm.
Total height: 265mm.
