Description:This extinguisher has a cylindrical copper body with one gallon capacity. Brass base plate with four feet. A pump handle is mounted on top with a metal sheathed flexible hose. The original red paint has been removed. A great variety of metal-bodied fire extinguishers were developed from about 1900. Many were developed to deal with new problems such as electrical, motor vehicle, oil and chemical fires. This item is part of the Staffordshire Fire Service collection held within the Staffordshire County Museum collection.
