Description:This two gallon capacity conical copper fire extinguisher has a brass plunger on top and small fixed nozzle on side. Handle on opposite side. No maker's name or instructions for use. A great variety of metal-bodied fire extinguishers were developed from about 1900. Many were developed to deal with new problems such as electrical, motor vehicle, oil and chemical fires. This item is part of the Staffordshire Fire Service collection held within the Staffordshire County Museum collection. Height: 660mm. Base diameter: 220mm. It was wall-mounted on a bracket made of strip steel. Back strip with cross support at base and bracket at top with pin and chain to secure plunger. Length: 930mm.
