Description:The National Fire Brigades Association was formed in 1887 as the National Fire Brigades Union. In 1947 it was amalgamated with the Professional Fire Brigades Association to form the British Fire Service Association. This badge belonged to Mr Haywood of Moss Pit, Stafford, a member of the Auxiliary Fire Service during the Second World War. It was worn when attending union meetings. Yellow metal badge with split pin fastening at the back. Central circle with radiating nozzles. Traces of red enamelling around lettering "NFBA". Diameter: 23mm. Worn when attending meetings as badge is recognised nationally.
