Date:5th of August 1907

Description:Kinver Edge is renowned for its rock houses, thought to be the earliest dwellings in the area. The Edge is soft sandstone which has meant that a number of caves and caverns have been worked into it, Holy Austin Rock being one of them.

Rock houses were built on two levels at Holy Austin Rock. A door to one of the bottom level houses can be seen here on the right. The roof of the top houses can just be made out on the left hand side. The gardens to the rock houses can be seen in the foreground.
