Description:In the 17th Century, Sir Richard Astley created a series of formal gardens for Patshull Hall. Today, only a few statues of this time remain.
In the 1760s, Sir George Pigot, employed Lancelot "Capability" Brown to redesign the park. Out of all of his work, Brown's plan for the lake was one of the largest he has designed.
Later, Brown's landscape was considerably altered by the next owners, the Earls of Dartmouth, to include more formal terraces and specimen planting.
