Description:This public house on the Main Road was once named The Bowyer Arms, after the family who owned Bishton Hall at that time. The inn sign was the family's coat of arms, which included a rampant red lion. The Bowyers Arms eventually changed its name to The Red Lion.
The inn was rebuilt in the 1930s.
