Description:A group of boys surveying a slope as part of a geography lesson in the grounds of Dartmouth Street Secondary Modern School for Boys. Part of Dormans Ltd.'s Tixall Road factory can be seen in the background.

The school opened in 1939 as Dartmouth Street Senior Boys School. In 1944 it became a Secondary Modern School for Boys, and was renamed Kingston Secondary Modern School in 1956. A further name change took place in October 1979 when it became Kingston Middle School. It was later home to Staffordshire County Council Education Department offices.
