Description:The timber-framed Old Hall was built in 1613. The brick extension dates from the early 18th century. It was bought from the Ashley family by John and Nathaniel Phillips in 1747 as a base for their linen tape making business. the company of J. & N. Philips became highly successful during the 19th and 20th centuries and finally closed in 1970. Tean Hall Mills have since continued productiion of tape, ribbon and webbing under Rykneld Tean Ltd.
