Date:1900 - 1920 (c.)

Description:Leather is fed into the rollers by turning the handle on the side, forcing the leather onto a blade directly behind the rollers which splits the leather into two complete layers.

The thickness of the leather slice is adjustable by rotating the wheel on the upper left of the machine.

This machine was used by Mr Gibson of Stockton Lane, Stafford. He had a cobbler's shed in his back garden during the 1960s and 1970s. He had previously worked at Lotus Ltd's factory on Sandon Road.
