Description:A view not so different from today. The picture looks towards Shelton. The potbank on the right was demolished in the late 1960’s to make way for a major road development. The A500 D-Road now runs just behind the photographer.
The steam engine is working Stoke goods yard. Notice the semaphore signal to the left of the bridge. The tramlines ran from Trent Vale to Golden Hill.
