Description:The Mansions were actually two houses, with one front door on the front of the house, and the other down the right hand side of the building. It was built in around 1600. The Locksmith cottages, which have now been demolished, can be seen past the side of the Mansions on the right hand side.

The Mansions stands on the corner of School Street and Newport Street. In the ‘Memories of Brewood’ published by Brewood Historical Society, it is mentioned that The Mansions or The Mansion House was also called The Old Workhouse and inmates from the Trysull Workhouse would walk to Brewood and stay overnight.
