Description:Christ Church opened on Foregate Street in 1839. Its mission church, St. Aidan's, was consecrated in 1902 on Marston Road.

Mothers' Union meetings were held on the first Wednesday of every month, with a service at St. Aidan's Church, followed by a social gathering at St. Aidan's Institute.
