Description:Mr A.J. 'Tony' Thornton in his workshop at Old Road, Stone holding a mechanism used for cutting the teeth in clock wheels. Mr Thornton opened his clock making business in Stone in 1926 and continued until his death in 1982. The workshop building is now (2007) occupied by the Stone Chinese Takeaway opposite Stonefield Park.
