Description:Looking northeast over St Leonard's Works, Stafford. The road on the lower left of the photograph is Fairway which connects with St Leonard's Avenue at the road traffic island. St Leonard’s Works in Stafford was originally built in the 1960’s during English Electric’s ownership. The site became part of GEC (The General Electric Company) during 1968 and over the years was often known as either Measurements or the M.R.I. (Meters, Relays and Instruments). On 22 March 1989 became part of GEC ALSTHOM, an Anglo French Joint Venture. On 22 June 1998 became part of ALSTOM with global HQ in Paris and on 2 November 2015 the Stafford Grid and Power Businesses became part of GE (General Electric, an American Company).
