Description:A photograph taken in the Mayor's Parlour in the Guildhall, Stafford on the occasion of the presentation of a silver Coronation mug to babies born in Stafford Borough on Coronation Day, June 2nd 1953. Seated far left is Mrs Kathleen Locke (nee Watson) of Rugeley holding baby Lesley. Her husband Glen is standing directly behind her. Next to Mrs Locke is Mrs Joan Whitehouse of Handsacre holding her son Peter James. Husband Bernard is third from the left at the back. The donor of this photograph, John Davies, is the fourth baby from the left, being held by his mother Harriet Davies (nee Shelley, and usually known as Nancy). His father, Jack Davies stands directly behind at the Mayor's shoulder. Also in the back row is Alderman Charles Fowke (5th from left) and the Mayor, Charles Jones.
