Description:A view from open fields below Hartshill north east towards the Diamond Clay Works at the junction of Brick Kiln Road and Shelton New Road. The Diamond Refractory company manufactured kiln furniture, such as setters, glost boxes, batts and cranks. The chimneys and tops of the beehive ovens are just visible behind the mounds of waste material (shraff). To the right are the houses on North Street and beyond them the chimneys of the brick & tile works along Brick Kiln Lane.

The site of the Diamond Clay Works has been redeveloped for housing, industry and an access road for the A500 (Queensway).
