Description:Page 27 of 'Drake Hall - A War-Time Hostel', a souvenir book produced for staff and residents at the Swynnerton Royal Ordinance Factory hostel at Drake Hall, produced in 1945. The Second Birthday Celebrations held at Drake Hall on 17 April 1944, an evening of music and 'The Farmer's Wife', a comedy by Eden Philpotts.

" "The Farmer's Wife" the well-known comedy by Eden Philpotts, was performed by the Drake Hall Dramatic Society on the occasion of the Hostel's second birthday. Great credit is due to the producer (Mr. F. G. Shepherd) and everyone concerned. A truly magnificent show."
