Description:Page 19 of 'Drake Hall - A War-Time Hostel', a souvenir book produced for staff and residents at the Swynnerton Royal Ordinance Factory hostel at Drake Hall, produced in 1945. The First Birthday Celebrations held at Drake Hall on 17 April 1943, an musical revue entitled 'Spring Rhythm'.Rhythm " Drake Hall revue. The text reads:

"Drake Hall celebrated its first birthday on April 17th, 1943, and were honoured by the presence of the Moderator of the Church of Scotland (the Rt. Rev. Dr. C. W. G. Taylor), who proved to be a most charming person. Other guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford (Coun. and Mrs. A. E. Hourd), Ald. and Mrs. H. Joynes, Miss Carrol and Mrs. Martin. Ministry of Supply: Mr. Wimble, W.T.A., and Mr. A. D. Robinson, R.O.F. Superintendent. A very excellent dinner was provided by the Catering Manager (Mr. Bean) and was followed by a performance of Drake Hall's own show, a revue, entitled "Spring Rhythm" and what a show! Who will ever forget the delightful singing of Nan Roberts and Harry Bridgewood ? or the lovely voices of the choir who provided such a splendid background to the vocal items, the dancing of Winnie Hunt and her girls, or the comicalities of Arthur Dowler who kept the audience shrieking with laughter. Barrie Cameron (the producer), together with the girls who took part, are to be congratulated on a very fine show."
