Description:Page 9 of 'Drake Hall - A War-Time Hostel', a souvenir book produced for staff and residents at the Swynnerton Royal Ordinance Factory hostel at Drake Hall, produced in 1945. Some of the amenities enjoyed by the staff and residents of Drake Hall. The image captions read:

1. Bedding store, well managed by Mrs. Lawton, who was the first person to join the staff. Assistant, Marie Everest.
2. Ironing room, fitted with good, strong ironing tables, electric irons, etc.
3. Hairdressing, where one can get a perm, manicure, beauty treatment, in fact all the facilities of a modern salon. Expert service by Gertie Shaw and Winnie Batty.
4. Laundry, one of the busiest spots in the Hostel; it is well-equipped with deep sinks, plenty of hot running water, wringers, drying rooms, etc.
