Description:The Old Farmhouse Restaurant was originally a 17th century timber framed building which opened as a restaurant in 1962. From the 1960s to the 1980s it was thought by many to be one of Staffordshire’s premier Restaurants with a reputation for fine dining.

The restaurant was popular for many years and won several Awards in the 1980’s. It was usually necessary to reserve a table well in advance and because it was so busy there were often two evening sittings, first at around 7.30pm and later around 9.15pm.

The Old Farmhouse celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1987. The restaurant was also well known for its themed French and Italian gourmet evenings. Over the years competition began to open up from other restaurants and many more pubs began to provide meals. The owners of the business retired and it changed hands with Mr and Mrs Seddon then running the restaurant for several years, it was still under the same name in 1992 . Later further changes of ownership followed and the restaurant became known as Spode Cottage. Towards the end of 2015 Spode Cottage closed.
