Description:A group of Red Cross V.A.D. (Voluntary Aid Detachment) nurses seated outside the south facing windows of Ravenhill House during World War I. The house was used as a convalescent hospital for military personnel. It was financially supported and staffed by local people. The Commandant was Miss Lambert and the matron was Mrs Hatton.
