Description:The story of Clara Greensell taken from court, parish and workhouse records. The documents above show Clara's son was baptised at Codsall but died 7 December 1837 at the workhouse in Tettenhall. Clara was admitted to the workhouse several times, including with her baby, Harriet, in 1840 . Another son, also John, died in the workhouse in 1846 and Clara and her 9-day old son, Joseph, were buried at Codsall in 1848 . Clara died three days after giving birth at the age of just 31.
