Date:1900 - 1910 (c.)

Description:This cream satin dress was in the typical style of the day, it has a high waist and a high collar and would have been worn with a corset.
Gigot sleeves were popular during the period, as the sleeves design were wide and puffed out at the shoulder and then tapered to a narrow forearm.
White was becoming more popular during the early 1900’s, as three British royal weddings had occurred during the Victorian era to popularise the colour.
The dress was worn with a lace tabbard.
We don't know who this dress belonged to but do have a photograph of it being worn, and believe it to have been worn locally.
