Description:Photographic postcard of the London-Manchester air race held between Claude Graham–White and Louis Paulham in 1910, the world's first long distance air race. This view shows Graham-White's biplane, probably during the first attempt on 23rd April 1910. He had been forced to land at Hademore near Lichfield, but he was unable to complete his flight due to high winds.
Paulham won the race on the second attempt a few days later, and was presented with a golden casket containing a cheque for £10,000.
