Description:Friendly society banner belonging to the Earl of Harrowby Lodge, no.2625 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows Manchester Unity. Based at Sandon, Staffordshire. Blue silk border with red and white fringing attached to lower edge. Red silk brocade central section with painted picture: painted coat of arms of Earl of Harrowby supported by two gryphons. Both sides have painted scroll at top with inscription: 'Earl of Harrowby Lodge No.2625 I.O.O.F.M.U.' Banner is secured to wooden pole with brass sockets at either end. Length of red woollen tape attached to bottom corners. Maker: G. Tutill and Co., City Road, London. Dimensions: width 3370mm, height 2800mm. From the collections of Staffordshire County Museum.
