Description:CASE XII.James Sherratt, of Hotlane in the Parish of Burslem

He worked for Messrs Job and John Jackson, of Burslem and was paid in over-priced goods. He then had to sell these goods on, at a great loss to pay his Rent and Taxes.

The foodstuff he was forced to accept was described as a quality scacely eatable and damaged by Rats.

He had worked for Messrs. R. and J. Clews, of Cobridge before working here, where he also had to accept poor goods for his labour. Some of the food he had to accept from this employer he had to throw away.

CASE XIII. Richard Bramwell, Potter, of Burslem

He worked for a Truck Master but had left when told he would have to receive all of his wages in Truck.

He had to sell the goods he received at a considerable loss to pay for his rent.
