Date:7th of April 1810
Description:The reverse side of the job advertisement contains some hand-written notes in, what appears to be, Wood's handwriting. They seem to be wage calculations for a worker named Ephraim Vernon. The notes go on to read; NB The whole of his loss out of the Oven in the last fortnight was one leg pan sack only, which would have made a good sound second, but Vernon carried it away he said, to get his ashes out with. NB See how compassionate workers are when work is wanted. About this document This advertisement was printed by J. Tregortha in Burslem. It was collected by local industrialist Enoch Wood and is now part of the collections at Stoke-on-Trent Museums.
