Description:The Farley estate passed to Richard Bill of Norbury, Derbyshire by marriage in 1607. He built Farley Hall shortly afterwards. There were extensive alterations in 1784. The glasshouse, seen to the right of this picture of the south front, was built in the mid-19th century.

The Hall was later a Youth Hostel and during the 1980s was the private residence of Anthony Bamford, Managing Director of JCB Excavators Ltd.
