Description:The mill was built by George Brewster in 1834, on the site of the medieval town mill. It was demolished in 1957 and the land became part of Victoria Park; the mill wheels are still preserved where they stood. The building in the centre of the photograph is the Moat House, Newport Road. Until 1907 it was a private girls school which closed when the County Council opened the Girls High School in the Oval.
