Description:'The George Inn and Old Houses at Walsall, Staffordshire.' A view of the square known as the Bridge. The large building with three (of four) Ionic columns, originally from Fisherwick Hall, on the left, is the George Inn, Walsall's leading coaching inn in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was demolished in 1933, and its Art deco replacement also no longer stands. There is a three storey mid-Georgian house on the right, next to an ancient house with many gables and chimneys. Artist: J. Buckler.
