Description:Tamworth pig 'Inge Vermilion' at Staffordshire Agricultural Society's County Show. The society held its first show in Stone in 1844. The annual County Show was originally held at various sites around the county.
Since 1958 the County Show has been held at the purpose-built County Show Ground at Hopton, on the outskirts of Stafford.
Tamworths are one of the oldest breeds of pig in England, taking their name from the Staffordshire town. Hardy and slow growing they have been successfully exported to America, Canada and some tropical climates.
