Description:The Ashenhurst Brass in St. Edward's Church (1597), showing two rows of kneeling figures, four wives and ten children. Inscribed over the figures,' MARY BRUTON; ALYCE BEALLOT; KATHERIN OKER; IOICE M.'Inscribed below the figures, 'HERE LYETH THE BODYES OF IOHN ASHENHURST ESQUIRE WHO HAD 4 WIVES VIZ IOYCE ALICE KATHEREN AND MARY AND HAD BY IOYCE 2 SONNES AND 5 DAUGHTERS VIZ RALPHE & IOHN DORATHIE MARGARETT ELIZABETH ANNE & IOYCE AND BY ALICE HAD ISSUE 2 SONNES THOMAS AND LAURENCE AND BY MARY HAD ISSUE ONE DAUGHTER AND THE SAID IOHN ASHENHURST DECEASED THE XX DAY OF OCTOBER ANNO DNI'.
