Description:Opening ceremony of Stafford's sewage works, attended by Mayor Frederick Greatrex (seen on the front row).

The main sewers served most of the Borough and discharged into a reception tank at the Corporation Depot in Lammascote Road. The sewage was then pumped to the Purification works at Lammascote Farm.
