Description:Blacksmiths and officials at Staffordshire Agricultural Society's County Show in Stone. The society held its first show in Stone in 1844. Standing first from right, wearing a trilby is Eric Hammersley, Longton china manufacturer, who lived at the White House on Oulton Heath.

Since 1958 the County Show has been held at the purpose-built County Show Ground at Hopton, on the outskirts of Stafford

In the foreground is a blacksmith's anvil.
