Description:Showing residential property called Whieldon's Grove and Fenton Hall, which is a large, two storeyed Georgian building. This print shows the routes of planned railways through the properties. Anonymous.

Inscribed: 'This Lithographic Sketch of residential Property called Fenton and Fenton Hall situated in the Parish of Stoke uponTrent in the County of Stafford, with the two lines of the MANCHESTER and TAMWORTH, the MANCHESTER, CHESHIRE and STAFFORDSHIRE RAILWAYS, accurately delineated thereon, shews (sic) the entire destruction of the two residence which EITHER of those lines will effect if sanctioned by the Legislature both of them being projected to run on embankments within a few yards of the two Mansions, and in one part of the said lines and immediately in front of both of them at an elevation of upwards of 35 feet.
Against such an injust invasion, and total destruction of this kind of private property the Proprietors firmly and solemnly protest and with full confidence in the wisdom and justice of the Legislative, they humbly and respectfully, but most earnestly make their appeal to both Houses of Parliament for protection from so grievous a wrong.'
