Description:There had been a brewery in Great Haywood since the mid-1800s, situated in what is now Brewery Lane.

The brewery had a steam engine which pumped water for making beer. When the well was in use the water table lowered and the other wells in the village dried up.

The cottages in Brewery Lane are built on the foundations of the old brewery.
